Convened under the theme "Navigating ASEAN’s Energy Future Together: Enhancing Resilience through Collaboration," the Council focused deliberations on critical regional energy challenges, encompassing global market volatility, geopolitical disruptions, and accelerating energy demand. Delegates unanimously affirmed that strengthening regional collaboration represents a decisive pillar to guarantee energy security and fortify ASEAN's resilience against external shocks.

The Council also recorded positive milestones in executing ASCOPE programs in alignment with the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2026–2030 (APAEC 2026–2030), particularly in Oil and Gas Connectivity, Security, and Sustainability (OGCSS).

Through its four Subcommittees, the Secretariat, and international partners, ASCOPE is actively advancing cooperation across resource development, energy infrastructure connectivity, regulatory formulation, technology integration, and human resource development. These concerted efforts aim to deepen regional energy integration, attract investment, accelerate innovation, and elevate ASEAN's collective energy self-reliance.

Delivering remarks at the ASCOPE Roundtable Session, PETROVIETNAM Board Member Tran Hong Nam emphasized that amidst ongoing global energy fluctuations, close coordination among regional nations and energy enterprises is paramount to safeguard supply continuity and optimize resource utilization.

Mr. Tran Hong Nam proposed that member states concretize high-level regional frameworks into targeted cooperative programs and projects defined by specific objectives, execution roadmaps, and measurable evaluation criteria. Priority cooperation areas include joint investment and project development, cross-border infrastructure and logistics sharing during emergencies or supply crises, and the formulation of flexible commercial trading mechanisms. These practical solutions optimize existing assets, leverage each national enterprise's comparative advantages, and heighten regional preparedness against energy disruptions.

On the sidelines of the Council Meeting, the PETROVIETNAM delegation held a bilateral working session with senior executive leadership of PT Pertamina (Persero) to evaluate bilateral cooperation opportunities. Both corporations examined pathways to broaden partnerships across marine services, LNG infrastructure development, human capital training, and scientific-technological research.

PETROVIETNAM and Pertamina introduced their respective technical service capabilities, training academies, and research institutes, exploring reciprocal resource integration, operational knowledge sharing, and specialized joint ventures in the forthcoming period.
